At Merck, we believe that no one should go without the medicines or vaccines they need.
That is why the company provides certain medicines
and adult vaccines for free to people who do not have prescription drug or health insurance coverage and
who,
without our assistance,
cannot afford their Merck medicines and vaccines. This is consistent with Merck's long-held values and
traditions of putting patients first.
Merck created our first US Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) to keep affordable medicines within
patients'
reach. Today, our patient
assistance offerings include several programs.
Programs for Individuals
Read about the programs that may be applicable to you.
This private and confidential program provides certain medicines free of charge to eligible individuals,
primarily the uninsured who, without our assistance, could not afford needed Merck medicines.
Individuals who don't meet the insurance criteria may still qualify for the Merck Patient
Assistance
Program if they attest that they have special circumstances of financial and medical hardship,
and
their income meets the program criteria. A single application may provide for up to 1 year of
medicine free of charge to eligible individuals and an individual may reapply as many times as
needed.

Vaccine Resources For Children & Seniors
Merck will continue to provide discounted pediatric vaccines to the Vaccines
for Children (VFC) Program.
The VFC program provides free vaccines to children who are Medicaid eligible, without health insurance, or American Indian/Alaska native and to children with health insurance that does not cover the cost of vaccines, if they receive their immunizations at a Federally Qualified Health Center or rural health clinic.
Ask your health care provider if they participate in the VFC program. Or, contact
the VFC coordinator in your state. A list of VFC coordinators can be found at

Children
Pediatric vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) are generally covered through private insurance or the federal VFC program.

Seniors

At Merck, we understand that obtaining the medicines you need can be complicated
by health care reimbursement. To make the process easier, we created the Merck Access
Program. The Merck Access Program provides free reimbursement support services to
help answer questions related to insurance coverage and reimbursement.* The Merck
Access Program also refers patients to the patient assistance program, which provides
certain Merck medicines free of charge to eligible individuals, primarily the uninsured
who, without our assistance, could not afford these needed Merck medicines. If you
do not meet the prescription drug coverage criteria, your income meets the program
criteria, and there are special circumstances of financial and medical hardship
that apply to your situation, you can request that an exception be made for you.
Patient Assistance for Eligible Patients†
Program Representatives can help you apply for the patient assistance program, which
provides certain Merck medicines free of charge to eligible patients who do not
have insurance coverage.

The Merck Patient Assistance Program, Inc., may be able to provide medicines and adult vaccines
free of charge through periodic bulk replenishments to eligible facilities that serve a large
percentage of low-income, uninsured patients. Types of eligible facilities include outpatient
pharmacies of disproportionate share hospitals, nonprofit health care clinics, and community health
facilities that have a licensed outpatient central fill pharmacy that is owned and operated by the
facility. The eligible facilities, under an Agreement with the Merck Patient Assistance Program, Inc.,
review eligibility of patients for patient assistance under the program's criteria with replenishment
being limited to patients meeting specified income and insurance criteria.

This program is designed to help indigent and uninsured patients. The program offers product replacement for:
- EMEND® (fosaprepitant) for Injection 150 mg (for use with in-patients in a hospital setting)
- NOXAFIL® (posaconazole) Injection (18 mg/mL) for Intravenous Use
- RECARBRIO™ (imipenem, cilastatin, and relebactam) for injection, for intravenous use
- ZERBAXA™ (ceftolozane and tazobactam) for Injection for Intravenous Use.

Products distributed through the Merck Patient Assistance Programs are free of charge to all eligible
patients. Merck is not associated with any individuals or organizations that may
charge patients a fee to assist them in completing applications for our program.
These individuals or organizations are acting independently of Merck, and do not
have Merck's consent.
Patients with insurance plans or employers that participate in or are involved in any way with an alternative funding program requiring or encouraging Patient to apply to a manufacturer’s patient assistance program or otherwise pursue specialty drug prescription coverage through an alternative funding vendor as a condition, requirement, or prerequisite for coverage of specific Merck medications, or that otherwise denies, restricts, eliminates, delays, alters, or withholds any insurance benefits or coverage contingent upon application to, or denial of eligibility for, specialty drug prescription coverage through the alternate funding or similar program are not eligible for the Merck PAP.
